The Lakeland Central School District's 2018-2019 Calendar of Events is available online.  The calendar will be mailed to Lakeland parents and guardians. You can call the Public Information Office Monday through Friday to request a calendar and be placed on the mailing list (914-245-1700).
The Board of Education will hold its regular business meeting on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in the Administration Building, 1086 East Main Street, Shrub Oak. The meeting is open to the public and there are two opportunities for public.
It is clear from our feedback that everyone understands the requirement to change our time schedules for the coming year. The questions the Lakeland community has to this change revolves around why we chose to start the high school earlier rather than adding time on the end of the day.

As you may have heard, following regulations from New York State Education Department that were finalized on July 19th, we determined our school schedules needed adjustment in order to meet the state requirements for instructional hours over the course of the upcoming year. Not doing so would result in the loss of State Aid which is critical to staffing, programs and the responsibility to our taxpayers.  (complete article)

New York State law (law effective July 1, 2018) requires a physical examination for students entering Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grades 1, 3, 5, 7,9, and 11, and all students transferring into the Lakeland Central School District. These examinations must be completed on the approved NYS Student Health Examination Form for School.  The form is due in the Health Office 30 days from the date of school entry.  (complete article)
