Michael G. Daly Michael Daly BOE Trustee

A resident of Yorktown Heights since 1977, Mike has been an active volunteer in the community. Mr. Daly served as Treasurer of the Lakeland Education Foundation between 2008-2015. Currently, he is the Director of the Shrub Oak Athletic Club's Girls' Basketball program and a coach. Mike is married with three daughters. The youngest daughter currently attends Lakeland schools.  The middle and oldest daughters are graduates of Lakeland High School Class of 2016 and Class of 2014. Mr. Daly is employed as a Senior Vice President/Financial Advisor in White Plains, NY in an internationally recognized financial services firm. In addition to his responsibilities as Board President, he serves on the Audit Committee, Capital Projects Committee and the District Sick Bank Committee.

A resident of Yorktown Heights for 22 years, Denise Kness has been a Lakeland volunteer for the past 15 years. Ms. Kness has been the co-president of the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School PTA, President of the Lakeland Education Foundation, and the co-founder of Parents for a Common Cause. Ms. Kness is married and her two children are graduates of Lakeland High School. She serves on the District Parents' Council, District Youth Council, and the Special Education, Capital Projects, Policy, and Legislative Action committees.

A resident of Cortlandt Manor since 2002, Becky Burfeind is the office manager in a local financial/retirement planning firm. Mrs. Burfeind has been a volunteer within Lakeland schools for the past 14 years. She was class parent and PTA member at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School for eight years and for the past three years, Mrs. Burfeind has been the president of the WPHS Panas Parent Club (PPC). She has also served on WPHS’ Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) and the District Parents’ Council (DPC). Mrs. Burfeind is married and has two children; one is a 2018 graduate of WPHS and one is currently attending Lakeland Schools.

Angela Conti

A resident of Cortlandt Manor since 1995, Angela Conti has been active in the community serving as a class parent and PTA member at Lincoln-Titus Elementary School from 2005 – 2009. She was president of the Panas Parent Club from 2014 - 2016 and a member of  the Walter Panas High School’s Building Emergency R6esponse Team (BERT) from 2014 – 2016. She was a member of the District Parent Council (2014 - 2018), and a Community Member on the Board of Education’s Audit Committee (2017-2018.)  She is also a member of the district's Data Committee. Mrs. Conti and her husband have two adult children. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Pace University and completed all course work towards a master’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Manhattanville College.

A resident of Yorktown Heights since 2007, Mr. Kaufman has been an educator in the Yonkers Public Schools for 22 years. He is currently an Assistant Principal at Lincoln High School. For ten years, Adam was a secondary mathematics teacher and has worked at all levels of public education. For six years, he has been a volunteer coach for the Shrub Oak Athletic Club and two years as the Director of the Shrub Oak Athletics’ Club Football program. Mr. Kaufman’s two children attend Lakeland Schools.

A fifth-generation Cortlandt resident, Robert Mayes attended Lakeland schools, is the son of a retired Lakeland teacher and the father of two children at Lincoln-Titus Elementary School. As an attorney, Robert has worked for both state and local government and served for more than a decade as a Westchester County Assistant District Attorney. He has been on the board of directors of CLUSTER Community Services, the Mt. Pleasant Blythedale Foundation and is a past vice-president of the Lincoln-Titus PTA. Elected to the Board of Education in 2018, he serves on the Safety & Emergency Management, District Parents Council, Legislative Advocacy and Capital Projects committees."

A resident of Yorktown Heights for 14 years, Rachelle Nardelli has a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and is a NYS certified teacher. Mrs. Nardelli has been Co-President of the Thomas Jefferson PTA and the Lakeland District Parents Council. She has also served as a trustee on the Lakeland Education Foundation board. Mrs. Nardelli is married and has three children, two recent graduates and one currently attending Lakeland Schools. She serves on the District Parents' Council, Management Policy, Safety, Wellness, and PPS/Special Education committees.

A resident of Yorktown Heights for 18 years,  Don is married and has two children attending Lakeland schools. He is active in the community as a local youth sports coach. A U.S. Army veteran, Don is employed as a Vice President-Internal Audit Manager with an Armonk firm. He serves on the Audit and Budget Committees.

A resident of Cortlandt Manor for 14 years, Karen Pressman is a corporate communication and public relations consultant for a range of clients in the technology, manufacturing, healthcare and professional services industries.  She was recently president of the District Parent Council (DPC) and previously served as president of the Lincoln-Titus PTA.  She is a member of the NY Suburban Consortium for Public Education and co-founder of Parents for a Common Cause.  Ms. Pressman is married and has two children attending Lakeland schools.  She serves on the District Parents' Council, District Youth Council, Lakeland Advocacy Outreach and Communications committees.
