BOND: YES-3487 NO-1008

BOARD OF EDUCATION TRUSTEE ELECTION:
Rachelle Nardelli (incumbent): 3885 votes
Denise Kness (incumbent): 3870 votes
Donald B. Pinkowsky (incumbent): 3753 votes

Only mail-in ballots will be accepted until June 16 by 5:00 pm. Today, June 9,  was the last day to pick up a replacement ballot if you did not receive one. 
Mail-in ballots must be received by 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 16 via USPS.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced in a news release Sunday, June 7,  that he will issue an executive order extending the deadline for school election ballots sent via U.S. mail to Tuesday, June 16 at 5:00 pm. 
 
  • PLEASE NOTE: THE SCHOOL BUDGET AND TRUSTEE BALLOT IS SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT FROM THE JUNE 23rd PRIMARY ELECTION BALLOT.  THESE ARE TWO SEPARATE ELECTIONS
  • June 9th is the School District Budget and Trustee Vote, June 23rd is the Democratic Primary Vote.
This year's vote on the school budget was directed by an Executive Order from Governor Cuomo.

THREE TRUSTEE POSITIONS OPEN
On the ballot are open trustee positions. They are three-year terms that expire June 2023. The Board of Education is an unpaid, volunteer position. There are nine positions on the Board of Education. The three incumbent board members Denise Kness, Rachelle Nardelli, and Donald Pinkowsky are running unopposed this year. For more about the candidates, click here.

2020-2021 BUDGET ADOPTED BY BOARD OF EDUCATION 
The Lakeland Central School District adopts a proposed 2020-2021 school budget that includes a ZERO TAX LEVY INCREASE districtwide for the coming year. The proposed budget of $164,797,022 includes a reduction in spending of 5.76% from the current year. It maintains current district programs. To view Dr. Stone's presentation on the budget. In accordance with Executive Order No. 202.26, the Budget Vote and School Board Election will be held remotely, by Absentee Ballot only.  Qualified voters of this School District will receive absentee ballots by mail.

To be a qualified voter you must be a US Citizen, at least 18 years old by June 9, 2020, a School District resident for 30 days immediately preceding the vote, and registered with the Westchester or Putnam Counties Board of Elections or registered to vote in School District elections and having voted in any School District election/vote during the past 4 calendar years.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no personal voter registration held at school district offices prior to the June 9, 2020 vote.

If you are not registered, you can register with the County Board of elections by mail or remotely through the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles website at https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/electronic-voter-registration-application
