| In order to be knowledgeable and productive members of our rapidly advancing technological world, the Lakeland Central School District is committed to the infusion of technology into all instructional and administrative programs. We recognize that technology must be a priority because it enhances and transforms our educational system and empowers all learners - both students and staff. In the classroom, technology is a tool that improves student motivation and learning, while providing necessary skills for meeting new demands that students will face upon graduation. For teachers, technology provides new tools for personal productivity. But more importantly, it encourages instruction that accommodates different learning styles, addresses critical thinking skills and problem solving and enables new types of learning that are collaborative and global. The school district of today looks very different from yesterday’s. Tomorrow’s will look different still. |
