What is a letter of recommendation? Who do I ask? How do I ask?

The following websites will give you a broad overview of letters of recommendation:

Make a list of three teachers you would consider asking to write your letter of recommendation. For each teacher, write a paragraph about why you think that teacher would be appropriate.

In addition, you will prepare a packet of the following materials that you would give a teacher once they had agreed to give you a recommendation:

• a copy of your resume
• a copy of your essay
• a list of SAT and AP exams you have taken (with scores)
• class rank
• the Teacher Recommendation form from your college with your information filled out
• a stamped envelope addressed to your college
• a post-it note on the envelope giving the application deadline date

You need to begin working on your reflections and Letter to the Reviewer.
