
Course Description:
This is the first year in a four-year sequence comprised of the NYS Learning
Standards. The principal strand of this course is algebra. The concrete developed
algebra will extend to factorable equations, while integrating with graphing,
simple geometry, and statistics. The students will take a departmental examination
in June. The Math A regents examination will be given in June of the second
year of this program. Students will be given the opportunity to work with
the graphing calculator, Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus, in class.
Required Materials:
Students are required to bring a scientific calculator to class every day.
The recommended model is the Texas Instruments TI-30II. Other required materials
include:
1 ½ inch binder with dividers or
5-subject notebook and folder
Looseleaf paper
Blue or black pens
Pencils
3 ring hole punch
