Art at the Mall to Feature Lakeland School District Student Artists
The 33rd annual Lakeland Week of the Arts at the Jefferson Valley Mall will be held May 13-30, 2019. The show features art work by students from the district’s two high schools – Walter Panas and Lakeland.
On Monday, May 13, an opening ceremony featuring student artists demonstrating their many talents and live music by Lakeland School District student musicians will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This year’s show and opening will be held on the second floor of the Mall.
The Jefferson Valley Mall has been welcoming the Lakeland School District’s artists to the mall for more than 30 years.
The art work on display ranges from photography and oil painting to watercolor and drawing. The show will be located on the second floor of the Mall which is located off of Route 6 in Jefferson Valley.
“The art exhibition gives the community an opportunity to view the magnificent work that our students do in their art classes. It communicates the outstanding talent of both the students and the art department staff,” said Lakeland’s Director of Communications James Van Develde. “It is also another example of the partnerships we have with the local business community,” he added.
