First Graders are looking forward to "MARCHING" into spring!
Thank you to all who helped make the 100th Day a success! The children loved showing off their 100th day t-shirts and posters. The snack was enjoyed by all!
In Fundations, we are learning about the long vowel consonant e pattern. The vowel will say its name in these words (examples are make, Pete, vine, bone, mule etc). We are also learning about vowel teams. Please continue to encourage your child to review all trick words and utilize Raz Kids at home.
In English Language Arts, our next unit will focus on a read aloud- My Father's Dragon. We will be working on chapter summaries and creative writing questions after each chapter.
In Math, we are almost to the end of our unit on measurement including tally charts, picture graphs, and bar graphs.
Our next unit will focus on addition facts up to 40. Please encourage your child to utilize Dreambox at home.
In Social Studies, we will be learning about communities and community workers.
We look forward to seeing all of you at Open House on Tuesday, March 14th from 6:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. More information will be sent home this month.
