PLEASE NOTE: Our May Meeting is scheduled for WEDNESDAY May 7, 2008. The day was changed to allow Mr. Connolly and the Board of Education to present the budget. The teachers will show their appreciation for the PTA at that meeting. Our elections for the board for 2008-2009 will also take place.

Our elections will take place at our May Meeting. Nominations will be taken from the floor at that time.

Our GW Carnival was a great success and all who came had fun! We have to give a big thanks to Mariella Vargas! Mariella, once again, dazzled us with her creativity and amazing decorations. We owe Mariella and her family a great big thank you for all their hard work. With Mariella as our carnival chairperson, we continue to be thrilled with her designs! Big thanks also go to all the volunteers who gave their time and energy! We especially appreciate all the efforts of the returning GW alumni!

Thanks to Kathleen May and all the parent volunteers for organizing and running our school store. It takes lots of time and energy to coordinate the store. We know the entire GW community appreciates their efforts.

We are pleased to announce that Beth O’Neill, Peter Daly and Mary Jo McCarthy will chair our 50th anniversary committee. Look for more information to follow.

Thanks to Maura Costello and Robin Velez for the successful before/after school activities. We thank our teachers for their hard work. The students all had a great time.

At our April meeting, the girls scouts from Troop 1354, with the help of their leader Jen Mrozick have graciously offered to chair and run our Halloween Event. We look forward to working with them.

We have a number of committee positions that will be open next year and we need to fill. Serving on a committee is a great way to get involved and depending upon the committee, often does not involve a great amount of your time. Please think of helping us on the following: Fundraising, Hospitality, and Beautification.

Don’t forget the school beautification day on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Please join us if you can.
