Day 1
We planted pumpkin and pea seeds in dirt. We watered them
and placed them on the window ledge to get sunlight. Our prediction is
that the seeds will get what they need to grow.
Day 7
Some
planted seeds are growing and are as much as 3 inches tall
so far! It’s interesting to see how the stems seem
to be reaching/bending towards the direction of the sun.
We’ve noticed that the potted seeds
that are further away from the sunlight are not growing as fast.
Our prediction is that they’ll grow at a slower rate.
Day 11
We’ve been watering our plants and rotating them from shade to sun. Some have grown as high as 9 inches tall now! The plants that were further away from sunlight still didn’t grow as much again. Our prediction was right
Day 20
Sun and water have allowed our potted plants to grow to 12 inches tall now. The tallest ones are again reaching/bending towards the sunlight, rather than growing straight up. These results have proven that certain conditions are necessary for seeds to grow well.
